Proton has chosen its home motorshow in Kuala Lumpur to unveil a pair of performance models.
The firm already builds a rebadged version of the standard Lancer called the Inspira, and now has unveiled this sport prototype version called the Jebat. It Jebat features a wide body kit with enlarged wheelarches and a small rear wing, plus a contrasting white and matte black paint finish. On the inside, the car benefits from Recaro sports seats and a touchscreen Clarion audio system.
The Jebat is powered by a 237bhp version of Mitsubishi’s turbocharged four-cylinder engine, which is considerably less than the lowest power Evo FQ300’s 300bhp here. It’s still four-wheel drive however, and completes the 0-62mph sprint in 5.6 seconds and tops out at 144 mph. The Evo FQ300 manages 4.7 seconds and 155mph respectively.
