Nemesis brings back WRC Blue
Mon, 07/15/2013

Subaru has launched its latest WRX limited edition model, the Nemesis, with the addition of a body kit and a change of colour to the traditional World Rally Championship Blue.

Limited to 12 models with numbered limited edition badging the WRX Nemesis follows the Blizzard which was available earlier this year, the Crouching Tiger of late last year and the Ace of Spades car from 15 months ago.

“These limited edition WRXs have reinvigorated our WRX sales,” said Wallis Dumper, the Managing Director of Subaru of New Zealand.

“They offer more performance potential than a standard WRX and a longer list of standard features and equipment at a value for money price.”

The WRC blue paintwork is offset by black 17 inch alloy wheels and black side mirrors and STi boot lid spoiler.

The Subaru WRX Nemesis quad cam 2.5 litre turbocharged “Boxer” motor has been re-tuned to produce 211 kWs (or over the magical 300 horsepower), compared to the standard WRX’s 195 kWs and the STI’s 221 kWs.

It will also features up-rated STI springs, lowering the car by 20mm.

New to this limited edition are the STi side skirts and STi front lip spoiler. Full privacy glass completes the Nemesis look.

Subaru’s unique symmetrical All Wheel Drive transmission features a limited slip rear differential, a viscous centre differential in the WRX Nemesis, together with a five speed manual gearbox.

Xenon self leveling headlights with an automatic off system and fog lamps light the way. And the wipers have Subaru’s variable intermittent function. There are four exhaust pipes.

There are four wheel disc brakes – the fronts are ventilated – with a four channel antilock system, brake assist and electronic brake force distribution and a Vehicle Dynamics Control function.

With six airbags the WRX Nemesis has a top five star safety rating from the European and Australian crash testing programmes.

There are the usual accessories and the driver can tune an ideal driving position in the high backed seat with a height and reach adjustable steering column, as well as the height adjustable seat. There is full leather upholstery with a unique “WRX” motif stitched into the front seats, and a leather covered steering wheel and alloy sports pedals.

A centrally positioned tachometer takes pride of place in the red back lit electroluminescent instruments.

Security is handled by a standard engine immobiliser, Datadots, deadlock central locking and an alarm system.

Cruise control and the 6 speaker sound system can be controlled from the steering wheel and there is USB and Bluetooth connectivity and an auxiliary jack point to aid MP3 and iPod use.

Like all other Subarus, the WRX Nemesis comes with a three year unlimited kilometres warranty.

It will sell for $54,990. The entry level WRX is $49,990 and the STI is available from $69,990

endlich wieder die richtige Farbe, sogar mit werkseitiger Leistungssteigerung, nur mit der Wahl des Namens...
