Mitsubishi has revealed some specifics about what could be the final edition Lancer Evolution X that will send off the sports sedan when it ends production next year.

The clues come in form of Mitsubishi's announcement of its roster for the upcoming Tokyo Auto Salon, an aftermarket equipment show that rivals SEMA for sheer spectacle. Among the lineup is what the company is calling the Lancer Evolution X Final Concept, based on the 5-speed trasmission-equiped GSR model.

The concept adds an HKS turbo, a modified intake, exhaust, fuel system, cooling system and ECU, resulting in a whopping 480 horsepower. This tops the already impressive 291hp for US market cars, though Japanese market versions are rated at 296hp. Whether this will translate to the production version of the final Evo X, limited to 2,000 units next year, is unknown.

Other Mitsubishis on display at the Auto Salon will include an Outlander PHEV Sport Style Edition Concept B, which is basically a blacked out version of the plug-in hybrid SUV. A race Outlander PHEV that competed in the Asia Cross Country Rally will also be on display as well. They will also be joined by a Delica D:5 4WD van customized in collaboration with Keen hiking boots.

Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X Final Concept announced, premiere at 2015 Tokyo Auto Show

As Mitsubishi brings down curtains on their iconic Lancer Evo X, the company will be releasing what is called Final Concept at 2015 Tokyo Auto Salon.

Mitsubishi had already confirmed that there will be no Evo XI, thus bringing an end to this iconic series. Back in November this year, Mitsubishi confirmed that before saying good-bye to Evo X, they will release a new concept, based on the same. They have now revealed information about this new concept.

Called Final Concept, this special edition version of Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X will go on display at the 2015 Tokyo Auto Salon in January next year, where it will be seen with distinctive interior and exterior updates.

Exterior updates include a new paint job in matte black, while the same colour scheme continues to the roof and rear spoiler but in a glossy finish, to stand apart. Front grille is in chrome while HKS sport suspension gives the car added support when on track. The Final Concept sits on 19” forged aluminium wheels and Yokohama Advan Neovas tyres.

Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution Final Concept will be powered by a 2 liter petrol engine with turbocharging and intercooling facilities boosting power to 473 bhp while being mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox and Mitsubishi’s 4WD system giving the final model better gripping facilities on all surfaces.

500-WHP 311RS Evo X Spec Blew Previewed At Twin Cities Auto Show

The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X may be on its last legs before dying an odd death—to be reincarnated as some type of hybrid—but the gang at 311RS have breathed new life into the car once again.

You may remember their original creation from 2013, which saw the wick on the standard Evo X turned up to 353 horsepower and 359 pound-feet of torque—for a price of $49,000.

This time, the 311RS Spec Blew takes it up another notch: 500 hp at the wheels for a price tag of just $54,999.

If you’re an Evo X fan and want to own one of these beefed-up beasts, you’d better get in line fast: the order books are already open.

In addition to being more powerful—by nearly a factor of two—than a stock Evo X, the Spec Blew also includes JRZ suspension, RAYS wheels, and much more. It’s also lighter than stock thanks to lighter components including a dry carbon fiber hood. There’s even a touch of sport-crossed luxury in the Alcantara dash.

What if you already own one of 311RS’s previous specials? No worries—you can upgrade to most of the Spec Blew spec for a fee.

Look for more details and photos soon as the 311RS Spec Blew will be officially unveiled at the Minneapolis Cars & Coffee event on April 4.
