good comment...
not!

But its one of the very few opportunities to drive or test your racecar on a lot of different tracks around europe.
plus there are quite a lot of flagmarshals around the track, so its "safe" too.

Besides the costs to run racecar (997 GT3 Cup for example) ~300-400 Euro for a whole day of Testing is not crazy expensive...

Few opprotunities???? you must live under a rock...there are tons.

So they wanted 470 and knocked it down to whatever..still too much. A good example is SPA.. They wanted some crazy amount, yet Cyr seems to get it for half the price with less drivers Augen rollen Screw them one for people with more money then brains.

The last pistenclub trackday I was at I was in a 997 GT3, And guess what.. too many people, some asshole on slicks throwing rocks (we were told NO Slicks, but we are not in the Good ole boy club) ...and it pretty much sucked ass, The was at the ring on the GP track.

Yeah and check out the open days at SPA..
SimonR-85
You can be sure, that i do not live under a rock..

so tell me other opportunities?
Like the "lizenz fahrten" or "licence driving" in Hockenheim.
I drove there once. it costs 270€ for half a day..
from 9 to 12, or 12 to 15
open pitlane, you could drive as much as you want.
very few cars driving on the track plus you gotta have a national A drivers licence at least.
Of course there are other trackdays for non road cars to. but the price is always the same... +/- a few bucks.

As i said... if you drive a race car in races, the few bucks for 1 or 2 trackdays a year dont bother you very much.
even if you drive your roadcar on racetracks regulary its a very few amount of money compared to tires, brakes, gas you use, and of course wear down of your car.. it wont last forever.. you gotta calculate that too.

and btw: i was told every time that slicks were allowed in the road cars group too.. no clue who told you not to use slicks.
if you care about your car getting hit with stones or rubberpieces or get any scratches at all: dont go to a racetrack

For starters you can look at SPA's page they have like 6 open days this year, You can drive GLP, there are a bunch of other track day orgs offering the same for ALOT less then pistenclub, as for the "if you can't handle someone driving with slicks you should stay off the track" ....It is a fucking trackday for ROADCARS (only one group, they said NO race only cars) not TEST and TUNE your wanna be old ass porsche with old slicks like this asshat did, My buddys GT3 is NOT a race car nor was any other persons carthat was there..We were not the only ones to complain.

Reicht jetzt hier.

Hier streitet eigendlich niemand..

John:

you say "offers the same".. your right.. for roadcars!
GLP = Roadcars
No clue about Spa, but spa may be to far away for some people.
besides that i really love spa, its the best track after the nordschleife that i have ever driven.

and i never ever said "if you cant handle people with slicks, get of the track"
i said if you dont want your car to get hit by little stones and/or rubberpieces THEN dont go to a track. That happens with streettires too.

And for GLP:
Well, i dont really like GLP because of 2 things:
a) i dont want to drive "gleichmäßig" or the same time over and over again... i would fall asleep...
b) i dont want to drive as fast as i want/can/whatever you wanna call it, and then wait 2-1 minutes standing on the döttinger höhe because im not allowed to drive under 10 minutes a lap...

thats why im driving RCN,345euros per race (if you join the series at the beginning of the year for 400 euros).
And there are 8 races pear season.
you have to drive 15 laps on the nordschleife with some changing "rules"
2 laps have to been driving at a time, you set yourself in the first lap, so thats some "GLP-ish" there. but the rest of the laps you have to drive as fast as you can to get a good position of course

but whatever..
to pistenclub again:
drivers could also join the pistenclub for a year.
as far as i can remember i payed 75 oder 95 euros?

Then the trackdays are not 470, but 350 or 370..something around that

PS: again... i was ALWAYS told that slicks were allowed on the road car class at pistenclub... i have no clue why someone told you not to use slicks.
And im sure the guy with "your wanna be old ass porsche with old slicks" would have annoyed you/the GT3guy even without slicks.
there are dickheads around on every trackday or touristenfahrten.
the same as they are on real races.

Ja.

Thanks for the information on the GLP and RCN I had no idea what they were Augenzwinkern

I say "roadcars" because your pic shows a road legal evo... maybe i'm wrong. As for the pistinclub day with the GT3, It was GP track road legal only..I even asked twice.. Maybe they thought I was going to show up with a GT car who knows.. as for the old ass porsche ..was SLOW AS SHIT.. It looked to be a old carbed narrow track 911. Ran like shit. We never really came across him.

What car are you driving RCN with? Rumor has it there will be a STi driving in it this year. smile

the second RCN race i drove on a weak slow ass bmw E36 318is with a friend of mine in the F2.

the next 2 races i drove a slow ass old wannabe racecar porsche

after that i drove the last 3 races with a slow porsche 993 cup car, in the H5.
